Ramadan 1428AH/2007CE Social Services Program

MCSSD works with needy families, including those who are widows, orphans, refugees, homeless, very poor, and/or have disabilities. We encourage local San Diegans to get involved in helping these needy people during this Holy Month, either by donating items, contributing financially, or volunteering your time. Below are a list of ways you can help. For more information, call the MCSSD office at 619 696 9267 or email MCSSD at info@mcssd.org.

MCSSD is a non-profit social service organization. Your contributions are tax-deductible. Receipts for donations are available upon request. If you have any questions or concerns about MCSSD's programs or policy, we are more than willing to provide information about our organization.

To donate money to MCSSD, visit the Donate page on the mcssd.org website for information about how to mail-in a check or pay online.

ZAKAAT AL-MAL and SADAQA

MCSSD is collecting zakaat and sadaqa for Muslim families on the MCSSD needy family list. Many of the people on our list are widows, orphans, disabled, in debt, newly arrived refugees... and some are even homeless. We hope that your contributions can really make a difference in their quality of life.

FIDYA (Expiatory payment for missed fasts)

MCSSD can facilitate your fidya payment, insha'Allah

RAMADAN FOOD BASKETS

In parternship with ICSD, MCSSD hopes to distribute food baskets to needy Muslims during the first two weeks of Ramadan. Food items or financial contributions will be accepted at ICSD, insha'Allah. A detailed list of accepted items will be emailed and also posted at ICSD, insha'Allah.

PROVIDE A RIDE

There are so many needy families who can not participate in community activities because they don't have transportation to and from the masjid. Many of these families live in the El Cajon area but others live all around the county (downtown, North County, East County, etc.). Volunteer to give someone a ride to any masjid activity (iftar, taraweeh, etc). You can volunteer just for one day, for one day a week during Ramadan, or more.

Needy people also need rides to the Eid Prayer!! Sign-up to help.

EID TOY DRIVE

MCSSD is working with the Girl Scouts to collect toys. The Girl Scouts will distribute toys to sick children in Children's Hospital.

MCSSD is planning to distribute toys to needy Muslim children in San Diego County. More information to come soon about where and when to drop-off, insha'Allah

INMATE SUPPORT

Can you give an Eid gift to a Muslim who is incarcerated? These inmates have very little support. A small gift, such as a book or money placed in their jail account could make a big difference.
