MCSSD is a registered 501© 3 organization, actively working in the field of social services since its inception in 2005. Our mission is to strive for the pleasure of God by providing social services to individuals and families in San Diego County, executing programs that help strengthen our families, encouraging Muslims to serve their community, and organizing social and educational events consistent with the principles of Islam.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” – [Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 604]
Our core program consists of assisting Muslim families and individuals that are struggling to make ends meet. The people we provide social services to comprise of refugees, widows, single parents, reverts and families that may have come upon hard times.
The assistance is sometimes financial, and at other times, in the form of furniture, appliances, and school supplies. In situations where our clients can benefit from government programs, we guide them in seeking such assistance from the state.
Our Operations Manager as well as our volunteers professionally assess the needs of people seeking assistance from MCSSD to determine if they qualify for Zakat/Sadaqah. Our Board of Directors has several years of experience in social services, and we are very diligent in how we utilize the amana (trust) that you place in us, through your donations. We work with the local Masajid and Islamic Centers to effectively disburse Zakat-ul-Fitr before Eid.
We also assist Muslim inmates through prison visits and gifts of Islamic material. We would like to expand this program to assist ex-inmates by helping them integrate with the community.
We need your continued support in the form of Zakat and Sadaqah donations, in order to continue serving as many needy families as we can in San Diego County. Besides financial contribution, if you can volunteer some of your time to help with MCS activities, we would be happy to welcome you in our midst.
MCSSD is continually striving to improve its services, and to keep its operating costs down, so that your Zakat and Sadaqah can be optimally utilized in serving the needy.
Allah (swt) says in the Glorious Qur’an:
“For those who give in Charity, men and women, and loan to Allah a Beautiful Loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credit), and they shall have (besides) a liberal reward.”
[Translation of Surah Al-Hadid, Verse 18]
We rely 100% on donations from the Muslim Community to provide these services! All donations are tax-deductible. Please send your Zakat-ul-Mal and Sadaqah checks to the following address:
